क्षमता वाले ब्राउन फील्ड हवाई अड्डों के विस्तार में गहरी दिलचस्पी रखते
हैं। हवाई अड्डा क्षेत्र पीपीपी मॉड्ल को अपनाने से प्रत्यक्ष विदेशी
निवेश (एफडीआई) आकर्षित करने का तुरंत अवसर उपलब्ध करा सकता है।
इसलिए भारतीय विमान पत्तन प्राधिकरण के छह हवाई अड्डों - अहमदाबाद, जयपुर, लखनऊ, गुवाहाटी, तिरुवनंतपुरम
और मंगलुरु को पहले चरण में लीज पर देने का निर्णय लिया गया है। इससे
भारतीय विमान पत्तन प्राधिकरण का राजस्व बढ़ने तथा रोजगार सृजन और संबंधित
बुनियादी ढांचे के रूप में इन क्षेत्रों के आर्थिक विकास में बढ़ोतरी होने
का अनुमान है।
